Shari Rowe, Nashville Country Recording Artist and Glendale, Arizona resident, is set for the release of her CD “Moonshine”, and will host a CD release party at Rustler’s Rooste on May 22nd.

The night will open with a private meet and greet from 7 PM to 8 PM in the Crystal Barn at Rustler’s Rooste (8383 S 48th St, Phoenix, AZ 85044). Doors will then open to the public at 8PM with Rob West performing an acoustic set. Shari and the band take the stage at 8:30 PM.

The band asks that attendees bring non-perishable food items for donations for the St. Mary’s Food Bank throughout the evening.

“Filming the video for ‘Moonshine’ was so fun,” said Shari. “I loved the 1920’s vibe, and the cast was having fun with that, too. It was kind of surreal watching it all unfold. I kept thinking back to when I first started writing the song, and now it’s the first single! Hearing songs develop in the studio is something I always look forward to, but watching this song play out through a storyline- it took on a whole new life!”

The video for “Moonshine” was filmed at Kimbro’s Pickin’ Parlor in Franklin and in Lebanon TN. Lamon Records expects to release the music video on May 26th.

“Moonshine” will be available on iTunes, Amazon, and everywhere music is sold on May 26th, 2015. The title track can be heard on radio stations across the country as of April 27th.

Country singer-songwriter Shari Rowe has a heart for people, and family is one of her greatest values. Wife to fellow-musician Kevin Rowe and mom to 2 girls, she often performs at charity benefits and church events, and uses her life experiences to let listeners know they’re not alone. She is determined to give back what her biggest musical influences have given her: comfort, inspiration, and encouragement. The Arizona native signed with Lamon Records Nashville in 2014, and is ready to release her new EP and music video.

Born and raised in the southwest to a supportive, hardworking, blue-collar family, Shari began singing in grade school choirs and in church. They didn’t have much while she was growing up. Her influences include Alison Krauss, Carrie Underwood, Martina McBride, and Miranda Lambert. She hopes her music will give others what these artists have given her – “music to do life to.”

The pairing of wine and music is fundamentally grounded in a field of cognitive neuroscience known as cross modal sensory perception. Human beings’ ability to taste, smell and enjoy wine is directly impacted by the various forms of stimuli contributed from other senses. It has been shown in university research that various tonalities of music are actually perceived to taste differently. For example, the timbre of brass instruments has been shown to accentuate the acidity in wines, while the timbre of woodwinds makes various tannins more pronounced.

“From a winemaking and marketing perspective, the data sets collected from the application over time will provide valuable insight to guide our production runs and blending techniques,” said Shannon Mackey, CEO of Mesh Omnimedia and co-owner of Notaviva. “For the first time, we will have actionable data illustrating how different demographic groups are impacted by various auditory stimuli. Ten lucky fans—along with a guest of their choice—will win a trip to Gatlinburg, Tennessee, where they will spend time with the members of Sugarlands Distilling Company’s “Legends Series” at the Sugarlands Distilling Company distillery.

Sugarlands Distilling Company’s partnership with legendary moonshiners Mark Rogers, Steven Ray Tickle, and Marvin “Jim Tom” Hedrick marked the creation of the widely successful Legends Series line of moonshine.

The winners will receive travel, lodging, and meal vouchers for the trip. They will also be invited to participate in their choice of several activities including: a hands-on distilling workshop, a cocktail kitchen experience, a tour of the distillery, live music, a cookout, a picnic, and a guided tour into the historic Sugarlands portion of the Smoky Mountains.

The USO debuts its first-ever bilingual public service announcement (PSA) in support of their Every Moment Counts campaign to thank the millions of troops and military families stationed around the world. The 30-second USO PSA, entitled “¡Gracias!,” premiered today in celebration of Military Appreciation Month and will run throughout the year on select television, radio and digital outlets. “¡Gracias!” is also the USO’s first celebrity endorsed bilingual PSA, and features some of today’s hottest Sony Music Latin artists, including Arthur Hanlon, Carlos Vives, Diego Boneta, J Rythm, Kany Garcia, Leslie Grace, Luis Coronel, Maluma, Pedro Capo, Raquel Sofia, Regulo Caro and Yandel, among others.

Forest Ridge School of the Sacred Heart will host international artists Owen & Moley Ó Súilleabháin and four Forest Ridge choirs in a weekend of Irish music and culture. On Saturday, April 25th at 7:00 p.m. the Forest Ridge Middle School Choir, Glee Club, Chamber Choir and Somerset Chorale will perform. Honoured guest, Mr. John F. Keane, Irish Consul for the Pacific Northwest will attend the concert. Sunday, April 26th at 4:00 p.m. the Ó Súilleabháin brothers will perform a solo concert. Performances will be held in the Sacred Heart Chapel on the Forest Ridge Campus located at 4800 139th Ave. S.E., Bellevue, WA. Tickets for Saturday’s performance are $ 10 and $ 15 on Sunday.

Owen and Moley Ó Súilleabháin are two brothers from one of Ireland’s most musical and artistic families. They have recorded ancient sacred chant and performed internationally with their mother, singer and theologian Nóirín Ní Riain, in a trio called AMEN. Their father, Michael Ó Súilleabháin, renowned musicologist, composer and pianist, has brought traditional Irish music to the world stage, and they love to bring him on stage with them too.

The brothers Ó Súilleabháin have recorded with Riverdance composer Bill Whelan, and performed with violinist Nigel Kennedy, actor Russell Crowe, poet David Whyte, and Irish traditional music legends The Chieftains. Hollywood director Steven Spielberg is also a big fan and gave them a singing part in his 2011 movie WarHorse. Owen (32) & Moley (28) are now living in New York City, bringing their world class double act to this side of the Atlantic.

Back in 2008, FreedomHouse Church began with seven people on a mission to bring hope and change their world one life at a time — with an inspiring Christian message built on principles of excellence, honor and commitment. Six years later, with a dynamic young pastor whose vision was to create a church people want to come to, FreedomHouse’s congregation has grown to just under 1,000 — mostly under 30 years old and reflecting nearly every ethnicity and background. At the center of FreedomHouse’s media production toolkit is a new Zen Studio multi-channel interface, from Antelope Audio.

FreedomHouse Church, which recently acquired its own dedicated sanctuary space, has been ‘mobile’ for six years — renting high school auditoriums, movie theaters and commercial buildings each Wednesday and Sunday. The church’s production team consists of over 25 volunteers, part of 175 total volunteers who serve throughout its different ministries.

The church’s use of technology helps create an atmosphere conducive to worship: “I have always felt that if you want to do something, you should do it well,” says Omar Reyna, Music Director, FreedomHouse Church. “This meant being intentional and inventive about when and how we use the technology. Since we acquired it a couple months ago, the Antelope Zen Studio has become an integral component in our pursuit of excellence in many different areas.”

One tool and a clear message

When Omar Reyna acquired Antelope’s Zen Studio to bolster FreedomHouse’s media capabilities, he didn’t immediately recognize all the potential uses and applications unit would have. Measuring just 16.8″ wide x 1.8″high x 5.8″ deep, the Zen is the ultimate portable device, enabling Reyna to ‘set up and go’ with his MacBook Pro.

With 20 analog inputs, 12 microphone preamps, onboard DSP and an onboard monitor controller among many other features, the Zen Studio presents a vast array of features — and professional audio quality — for just about any sized church. “One of the first things that caught my attention on the Zen Studio was just how many features are packed into this little unit and just how portable it is,” he says. “This was a big factor in my purchasing decision.”

Turning Inspiration Into Reality

On acquiring the Zen Studio, one of the first things Reyna did to begin using it to capture audio for the FreedomHouse Podcast, which has already produced no less than 50 episodes since launching in October of last year. “This is the most simple scenario we use the Zen for and it has proven to be a solid and reliable setup,” he explains. “Our podcasts are rated highly among the Christian podcasts on iTunes and have devotional content, as well as sermons and general guest Q&As.” In this application, the Zen’s portability shines, enabling the media team to interview guests in any location, or capture sermons ‘on the fly’ in the sanctuary using a pair of MXL 990 large condenser microphones plugged into the front of the Zen interface, and Logic X recording software, running on an Apple MacBook Pro.

After he became more acclimated to the quality and feature set of Zen Studio, Reyna began to use it for recordings of FreedomHouse’s band, which performs at the church each Sunday. “We’ve begun to write our own songs,” he says. “We play very dynamic music that embraces our diverse church culture: from high energy EDM style songs, to epic rock ballads, to old hymnals with a modern sound.” So far, Reyna and his band have been pleased with the sound quality: “For everything we’ve done, the sound quality of the Zen has been fantastic. I would describe the sound as very transparent, and natural. The preamps, by the way, are phenomenal.” The church band is recording a new CD with the Zen, and has already completed four songs.

Aside from podcasts and recording, FreedomHouse Church also uses the Zen Studio for playback of tracks during worship services. “After we’re done tracking vocal parts and any additional instrumentation in rehearsal, we will use between four and six tracks as part of our stems for our click tracks,” says Reyna. “The tracks enhance the overall sonic quality of the music — with the playback on the Zen, everything sounds bigger, wider, and the image is very crisp.”The church’s live performers include a drummer, bass guitarist, two guitarists, acoustic guitar and four vocalists. These are then combined with the backing tracks.

For FreedomHouse Church and Omar Reyna, the Zen Studio has not only brought about a dimension of audio quality, but has also challenged how the production team thinks about creating new content. “Our congregation is growing, and we are not afraid to go out and try new things. The Zen has really motivated us and helped us bring some of these ideas to reality.
