Announcement: Releases “Blues Chord Progression Exercise – Rhythm Blues Guitar”

(PRWEB) June 02, 2014

“Today I want to talk about a progression that is a little different than your basic 1-4-5 progression”, says Darville, “as you know in the blues the 1-4-5 is kind of the standard progression”. Jacques demonstrates a 1-4-5 progression in the key of A as the one chord is A, the four chord is D and the five chord is E. “You can flip this by going one, five and then four”, says Darville, “this is also a progression that is very widely used”. Jacques demonstrates this progression with the song Key to the Highway, by pianist Charlie Seger as follows; open 5th string and 2nd fret of the 4th string with first finger to open 5th string to 4th fret of the 4th string with 3rd finger, played as a shuffle, next Jacques moves to the five chord by playing the same riff, but moving it to the 6th and 5th strings and finally he moves to the 4 chord by moving the riff to the 4th and 3rd strings. Another example song is Trouble in Mind by pianist Richard M Jones. Guitar TAB’s are available for this beginner blues guitar lesson at

Charlie Segar was an American blues pianist from Pensacola Florida, best known for the song Key to the Highway which he recorded in 1940. It is one of five known songs recorded by Segar between 1934 and 1940.
